The Senior NAVAID Engineer manages, maintains, and optimizes navigational aid (NAVAID) systems critical to aviation operations. This role involves technical expertise in navigation technologies, regulatory compliance, and system troubleshooting to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and reliability in air navigation services.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain NAVAID systems, including Instrument Landing Systems (ILS), Very High Frequency Omni-Directional Range (VOR), and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME).
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure uninterrupted operation.
- Monitor the performance of NAVAID systems and make adjustments to enhance accuracy and reliability.
- Analyze system data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure all systems comply with ICAO, FAA, and other relevant international and local aviation standards.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for audits, certifications, and regulatory reviews.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in NAVAID systems promptly to minimize disruptions to operations.
- Collaborate with technical teams and vendors for complex repairs and system upgrades.
- Plan and execute projects related to the installation, upgrade, or relocation of NAVAID systems
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
- Work closely with air traffic management, airport authorities, and other relevant entities to align NAVAID operations with operational requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and external partners.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on NAVAID systems and best practices.
- Stay updated on advancements in navigation technologies and integrate new solutions where applicable.
