The Payroll Accountant is responsible for ensuring the payroll is in compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and labor laws. This role plays a critical part in maintaining proper financial reporting related to payroll activities.
- Review end-to-end payroll processing, including salary calculation, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Calculate and process payroll taxes, social security contributions, and other statutory obligations as per local regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date employee records for leave, gratuity and air ticket provisions.
- Conduct regular internal audits of payroll procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Collaborate with the finance department for payroll postings in GL.
- Oversee payroll system updates and troubleshoot any software issues in collaboration with IT.
- Stay updated with changes in labor laws, tax regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance.
- Identify opportunities to enhance payroll processing efficiency and implement improvements.
- Safeguard sensitive employee information and maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll data.
- Ensure all active employees have bank accounts in payroll.
