The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Supervisor is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental programs across airport operations to ensure compliance with aviation regulations, occupational safety standards, and company policies. The role focuses on minimizing workplace hazards, preventing incidents, and promoting a strong safety culture among airport employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, airport safety standards, and company procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across terminals, airside, landside, cargo, maintenance, and operational areas.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure implementation of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and emergency response procedures.
- Coordinate fire drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency preparedness activities.
- Deliver safety induction training and toolbox talks for employees, contractors, and vendors.
- Promote safety awareness campaigns and encourage reporting of hazards and unsafe practices.
- Monitor use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure adherence to safe working practices.
- Maintain HSE records, incident logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, airlines, ground handling companies, and airport stakeholders on safety matters.
- Ensure compliance with aviation authority regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental requirements.
- Support occupational health initiatives including employee wellness, fatigue management, and workplace hygiene.
- Conduct contractor safety evaluations and ensure contractor compliance with airport safety procedures.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as airside operations, confined space work, hot work, and equipment handling.
