We are building a Saudi smart home technology company focused on developing high-quality, affordable, and user-friendly smart home products based on modern standards such as Matter and Thread.
Our product roadmap includes smart lighting, smart control devices, sensors, and a smart home hub. We are moving from prototype development toward product validation, certification, and manufacturing readiness.
Role Summary
The Electronic Engineer will support the design, testing, debugging, and manufacturing preparation of our smart home electronic products. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in embedded hardware design, PCB design, power electronics, sensors, wireless modules, and product testing.
This role is hands-on and requires someone who can work with prototypes, identify design issues, improve hardware reliability, and support the transition from engineering design to manufacturable products.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Design & Development
- Design and review electronic circuits for smart home and IoT products.
- Work on low-voltage embedded systems using microcontrollers such as ESP32, ESP32-H2, ESP32-S3, or similar platforms.
- Design and validate circuits for wireless devices, sensors, buttons, LEDs, power supplies, and battery-powered products.
- Support smart lighting designs including LED drivers, dimming circuits, PWM control, flicker considerations, and thermal behavior.
- Select suitable electronic components based on cost, performance, availability, reliability, and production needs.
- Create and review schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar tools.
PCB & Product Validation
- Bring up new PCB prototypes and perform functional testing.
- Debug hardware issues using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, programmable power supplies, and thermal cameras.
- Validate power consumption, wireless performance, signal integrity, thermal behavior, and product reliability.
- Support testing for smart lights, scene controllers, motion sensors, environment sensors, and smart home hubs.
- Document design issues, test results, corrective actions, and recommended improvements.
Manufacturing & Production Support
- Prepare hardware designs for manufacturing and assembly.
- Work with PCB manufacturers, assembly houses, mechanical designers, and suppliers.
- Support DFM, DFA, and DFT reviews.
- Prepare BOMs, approved alternatives, test procedures, production files, and end-of-line testing plans.
- Help solve production-related technical issues and support pilot builds.
Certification & Compliance Support
- Support product preparation for regulatory and certification requirements.
- Assist with hardware-related requirements for CE, RoHS, SASO/SABER, Matter, Thread, and other relevant standards.
- Help review product safety, EMI/EMC risks, isolation requirements, RF performance, and required documentation.
