We are looking for an enthusiastic analytical person based in Damascus to join our team and help us build the leading beauty startup in Iraq: we are building Ipsy in Iraq.

The Business Analyst role will be to follow up and handle customer orders and manage customer data behind an innovative social commerce experience using tools like Shopify and Trello, as well as prepare reports related to all areas of the business. The analyst will also coordinate with team members to build other tools to enhance and help our work and work on analytics for the startup to enable the team to have data-driven decisions.

The Business Analyst will report to the Tech operations and analytics Coordinator.

What you will be doing

Working on Shopify & Trello tools:

The startup is selling through its Beauty Advisors BAs (i.e., sales agents) that are chatting with customers. To enable a smooth and informative chatting experience, the BAs are supported with Messenger & CRM tools on Shopify and Facebook. The Business Analyst role will be responsible for managing some steps in the order-processing chain, customer processing, and other related processes in the backend.

Coordinating with other team members:

The startup has a simple website that was built on Shopify. The Business Analyst role will be responsible for learning how to use Shopify to manage processes and make or suggest any tool that helps ease our work.

Analytics and Data entry:

Data-driven decisions are at the heart of the culture and the startup. The Business Analyst will need to work with all the tools needed to build the infrastructure to gather the data and the analysis to derive insights to make informed decisions, and therefore needs to be comfortable with Excel and with learning any other tool.

The business analyst will also have to gather and enter data related to products and process this data in order to prepare it for the website.

Accounting:

Since our work relies on purchasing and selling processes, he/she will need to prepare all the needed reports and invoices to complete these processes such as end-of-month sales report, inventory report, etc.
