We are looking for a Backend / Ingestion Engineer to build and maintain the raw telemetry ingestion pipeline for our GPS tracking platform.
The role focuses on receiving GPS device packets, storing raw telemetry data, parsing device protocols, normalizing position data, and publishing clean events to the core platform.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring reliable and scalable processing of high-volume GPS data streams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement the raw packet intake pipeline for GPS devices.

• Store incoming raw telemetry packets for auditing and replay purposes.

• Build a parser adapter framework to support multiple device protocols.

• Parse and normalize GPS data into a standardized position schema.

• Handle parser failures, unknown devices, and malformed payloads.

• Implement the ability to replay raw packets after parser fixes.

• Publish normalized telemetry events to the core platform services.

• Collaborate with the team to analyze legacy Java parsers and document their behavior as specifications.

• Ensure data integrity through deduplication, idempotency, and validation mechanisms.
