Job Summary:

The Senior QA/QC Engineer - Architectural Finishes is responsible for ensuring that all architectural finishing works are executed in full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, inspection and test plans, and applicable international quality standards. The role ensures that finishing works are delivered on time, with high workmanship quality, and meet or exceed the client’s expectations while minimizing rework and non-conformities throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management & Compliance

• Manage and oversee the quality and workmanship of all architectural finishing activities, including but not limited to tiling, plastering, painting, gypsum partitions and ceilings, doors, windows, joinery, cladding, and façade finishes.

• Ensure implementation of the Project Quality Plan, approved Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and approved architectural drawings.

• Ensure that all quality-related procedures comply with ISO 9001 and applicable project specifications and standards.

Inspections & Site Activities

• Conduct internal inspections for all architectural finishing works prior to submission of Work Inspection Requests (WIR) to the Consultant.

• Prepare and submit WIRs for architectural finishing activities and coordinate inspections with the Consultant and Client.

• Ensure that all inspections are carried out using the latest approved drawings and specifications.

• Achieve a high rate of first-time inspection approvals by ensuring work readiness prior to Consultant inspections.

• Advise the construction team on corrective actions to avoid rejection of works and repeated quality issues.

Materials Quality Control

• Ensure that all architectural finishing materials delivered to site are inspected in accordance with approved material submittals and project specifications.

• Verify material compliance including type, quality, batch, shade, and condition prior to use on site.

• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-compliant or rejected materials and maintain proper records.

• Ensure that materials are internally approved before offering for Consultant inspection.

Documentation & Records

• Maintain and control all QA/QC documentation related to architectural finishes, including WIRs, material inspection reports, test reports, NCRs, mock-up approvals, and quality records.

• Ensure that all superseded documents and drawings are removed from site and replaced with the latest approved revisions.

• Monitor WIRs and inspection statuses and update the Quality Manager and site team accordingly.

• Prepare and submit monthly quality reports related to architectural finishing works.

Snagging & Handover

• Conduct snagging and pre-handover inspections for architectural finishing works.

• Prepare detailed snag and punch lists and coordinate with the construction team for timely rectification.

• Verify closure of all snags prior to final handover and ensure compliance with project handover requirements.

Coordination & Leadership

• Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure quality compliance of architectural finishes.

• Provide guidance and support to junior QA/QC engineers
