Core Purpose of The Job:  
Supervise and monitor the Applications department’s activities, processes and KPIs (Oracle Financial, CRM, Portal, IVR,RA System, Fraud System, Inventory, in-house developed Application…). Make sure they are aligned with MTN standards. Prepare the department’s budget. Maintain the proper control of the department’s budget. Set the department’s short and long term targets and development steps along with the CITO and put the roadmap for achieving them. Provide coaching and motivation of the application department’s staff and make sure they are developed in the proper way and that this is well oriented towards the benefit of both the employees and the organization.

Task Complexity:

*Prepare and control the department’s budget according to the company strategy.

*Prepare the department projects plan, and ensure its implementation within the right time schedule according to the approved budget.

*Indicate the steps needed to achieve these targets and implement them in coordination with the concerned teams.

*Responsible for the strategic planning of systems expansion based of the forecasted subscriber base.

*To assess the impact and potential of new Enterprise services and technologies.

*To lead in deciding on Enterprise services and technologies road map.

*Coordinate with Vendors (Oracle, Subex…) for the dimensioning, design, implementation, testing and Faults handling, as well as preparing the requirement specification for new platforms.

*Participate in the commercial negotiations, and agreements along with the CITO for  Application related aspects.

*Ensure a company's IT technologies objectives are aligned to its business goals.

*Adopt service-oriented architecture (SOA) approaches toward application development.

*Construct a list of projects and initiatives to put the IT infrastructure back on track towards the desired future state.

*Continuously monitor the models and update them as necessary to show changes, additions, and alterations. Represent architecture and issues during development and decision points of the program. The architect is an "agent of change", representing that need for the implementation of the architecture. Through this development cycle, the architect continuously fosters the sharing of customer, architecture, and technical information between organizations.

*Design, create and document the department’s policies and procedures for the operational and development tasks that guarantee continuity of department’s functions.

*Put in place the necessary controls to ensure that all department’s processes are 100% available.

*Put in place the necessary controls to ensure that all department’s reports are 100% accurate.

*Setup plans for Applications employees’ development as well as new recruitment.

*Measure team’s performance and allocate scores for each employee and task.

*Prepare monthly department’s KPI reports, projects progress and team development progress and communicate results to CITO.

*Propose solutions to automate and enhance company processes.

*Use latest technology in developing and enhancing solutions.
