We are launching a modern online grocery operation and are hiring a City Operations & Purchasing Manager with strong supermarket or grocery retail experience.
The ideal candidate has managed sections, supervised teams, handled promotions, and worked with suppliers in a fast-moving retail environment.
- Oversee daily store operations, product availability, freshness, and quality.
- Select and manage SKU assortment based on local demand.
- Establish and negotiate supplier deals, prices, promotions, and bundles.
- Monitor daily KPIs: order time, availability, accuracy, wastage, substitutions.
- Coordinate with Marketing and eCommerce on promotions and weekly offers.
- Ensure proper receiving, storage, FIFO rotation, and expiry control.
- Train and supervise store team (receivers, pickers, packers, store supervisor).
- Collaborate closely with the warehouse/store manager on execution.
- Handle procurement cycles, replenishment, and stock balancing.
- Oversee order preparation and ensure smooth operational flow and customer satisfaction.
- Use ERP or modern digital systems to manage purchasing, invoices, and stock.
