Sabbah trading is a family-owned trading company established in 1980, specializing in building materials and serving as the exclusive distributor of international 4 brands in Syria. With a strong reputation and a loyal customer base, we are looking for a dynamic Operational & Supply Chain Specialist to strengthen our procurement, logistics, operations and financial insight functions.
1. Supplier & Purchasing
- Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and pricing negotiations.
- Prepare, follow up proformas, purchase orders, and shipment schedules.
- Ensure compliance with agreed terms on pricing, delivery times, and product quality.
- Maintain supplier records, including performance, pricing history, and contracts.
- Develop a professional and friendly relationship with suppliers.
2. Logistics & Operations
- Coordinate shipments from suppliers (containers, schedules, customs clearance).
- Track inventory requirements in coordination with the warehouse manager.
- Create and maintain a rolling procurement plan based on sales forecasts and targets.
- Align purchasing decisions with sales goals and market demand, ensuring product availability without overstocking.
- Prepare monthly procurement vs. sales performance reports, highlighting gaps between planned targets and actual performance.
- Anticipate stock shortages or surpluses and propose corrective actions (accelerated shipments, delayed orders, sales promotions).
3. Financial & Analytical Support
- Prepare cost breakdowns (import costs, customs, transport, storage, overheads).
- Track gross margins per product line and supplier.
- Assist in monthly management reports (profitability, sales vs. costs).
- Identify risks such as supplier cost increases or delays impacting cash flow.
- Maintain reports showing our position compared to competition.
4. Internal Coordination
- Work with the sales team to forecast product demand.
- Provide management with dashboards on supplier performance, stock coverage, and procurement efficiency.
- Support cross-functional alignment between sales, warehouse, and finance.
5. Growth & Development
- Research and evaluate potential new suppliers and product opportunities.
- Benchmark competitors on pricing and product range.
- Participate in exhibitions and supplier-related events when needed.
- Continuously suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
