The Ground Operations Staff member is responsible for frontline passenger and baggage handling services at the airport. The role includes managing check-in processes, verifying travel documentation, updating the Departure Control System (DCS), assisting passengers throughout their airport journey, and coordinating with internal airport departments to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time flight departures
Main Duties:
- Perform passenger check-in procedures, including verifying travel documents (passports, visas, permits), issuing boarding passes, processing baggage, and ensuring compliance with airline baggage policies and immigration and regulatory requirements.
- Provide professional customer service and passenger assistance, responding to inquiries, offering guidance throughout the airport, and ensuring a smooth and positive travel experience.
- Handle special passenger categories, including unaccompanied minors (UM), passengers with reduced mobility (PRM), and VIP passengers, ensuring proper assistance, escort through airport procedures when required, and safe handover to cabin crew.
- Perform boarding gate operations, including passenger verification, boarding procedures, and coordination with ramp teams to ensure safe and on-time flight departures.
- Assist in managing operational disruptions, including flight delays, denied boarding, excess baggage situations, and other passenger-related irregularities, in coordination with the Airport Supervisor.
- Prepare and maintain accurate operational documentation and records, including flight reports, general declarations, movement messages, and required communications with relevant departments in compliance with company and regulatory procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to airline safety, security, and operational procedures, report any irregularities or incidents to the Airport Supervisor, and remain updated on current airport operations policies and procedures.
