Role Overview

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, automating, and securing LikeCard’s hybrid infrastructure across AWS and Azure, ensuring performance, cost efficiency, and compliance with LikeCard’s Security & Compliance framework. The role emphasizes high availability, database security, auto-scaling, and continuous monitoring. The engineer will also manage VPN connectivity and contribute to the architectural optimization of all environments in collaboration with backend, mobile, and QA teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure (EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Azure VM, App Services, VNet, Monitor).
• Configure and secure Cloudflare Enterprise (WAF, caching, Zero Trust, bot management, and health checks).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions for Laravel (PHP ionCube) and Android projects.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to standardize provisioning, scalability, and auditability.
• Manage and maintain VPN connections for secure access to dashboards, internal systems, and production environments.
• Enforce security hardening, IAM best practices, database security, and network segmentation across all environments.
• Deploy, secure, and maintain ionCube-encoded Laravel applications, ensuring controlled and secure code distribution.
• Configure and manage auto-scaling policies, ensuring system elasticity and uptime.
• Manage monitoring, logging, and observability using Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor to ensure real-time alerting and operational visibility.
• Conduct AWS cost analysis, identify inefficiencies, and implement cost-reduction initiatives (rightsizing, reserved instances, lifecycle policies, auto-scaling).
• Generate detailed monthly cost and usage reports, providing optimization recommendations.
• Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
• Collaborate with the Security & Compliance team to maintain audit readiness and enforce zero-trust access policies.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production, infrastructure, or security incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Ensure database availability, integrity, and performance through continuous monitoring and optimization.
