1.    Create primary database storage structures and allocate system storage requirements for database systems.
2.    Participate in Installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting Oracle servers software, application tools and related products.

3.    Participate in Performing troubleshooting, investigating for future mitigation of re-occurring problems.
4.    Administer test backup and recovery plans that adhere to the policies and archiving rules.
5.    Apply troubleshooting review, categorize, initially diagnose, resolve/reassign and follow up incidents reported by users/system.  
6.    Execute any required database upgrades and migrations (patches etc.)
7.    Perform shell scripting or other basic scripting related to performing the Database Administration tasks.
8.    Implement and maintain database security as per standards, control and monitor user access to the database as per policies and procedures.
9.    Implement business continuity plans and processes.
10.    Stay abreast with latest technical knowledge and problem resolution skills.
11.    Check Section & Individual objectives on regular basis and effectively participate in achieving them to ensure successful contribution to company's goals and corporate objectives.
12.    Participate in conducting the OJT for new team members and promote a culture of knowledge transfer, cooperation and teamwork.
13.    Contribute to the continuous improvement of Syriatel Quality Management System.
