The Compliance Officer will ensure that the startup adheres to all applicable local and international regulations related to cryptocurrency operations, financial services, and anti-money laundering (AML) standards in Syria and beyond. This role is critical to maintaining the company’s legal and ethical integrity as it grows in a complex regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a robust compliance framework tailored to the cryptocurrency industry and Syrian regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to local laws, international sanctions, AML, and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify compliance vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with legal advisors, regulators, and government authorities in Damascus as needed.
• Design and deliver compliance training programs for employees to ensure awareness of regulatory obligations.
• Review and approve company policies, contracts, and partnerships to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.
• Stay updated on evolving crypto regulations globally and in Syria, advising leadership on necessary adjustments.
