The Airport Telecom Manager ensures the reliable design, operation, and maintenance of all airport telecommunications systems, including voice, data, radio, and fiber network infrastructure. The role oversees the implementation, optimization, and security of telecommunications networks that support critical airport operations, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity, system integrity, and compliance with aviation and ICT standards.
- Lead the planning, design, and management of telecommunications systems supporting airside, terminal, and landside operations.
- Oversee operation and maintenance of voice, data, radio, and fiber optic communication networks, ensuring 24/7 service availability.
- Manage installation, testing, and commissioning of new telecom infrastructure in coordination with engineering and IT teams.
- Ensure network redundancy and fail-safe mechanisms to support business continuity and emergency response operations.
- Monitor and analyze telecom network performance, implementing improvements to enhance speed, coverage, and reliability.
- Develop and enforce telecom standards, policies, and security protocols in line with ICAO, IATA, and ICT frameworks.
- Manage vendor contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely maintenance, upgrades, and support.
- Coordinate with AOCC, airfield, and terminal operations teams to ensure seamless integration between operational systems and communications networks
- Prepare budgets, technical specifications, and project proposals for telecom infrastructure enhancements.
- Lead and mentor telecom engineers and technicians, ensuring technical competency, safety, and operational excellence.
