The Airport Duty Manager ensures the safe, efficient, and seamless coordination of all airport operations during assigned shifts. The role acts as the single point of command for day-to-day operational performance, overseeing terminal, airside, and landside activities, ensuring compliance with aviation standards, and maintaining real-time coordination among airlines, government agencies, and airport stakeholders to deliver a consistent passenger experience and operational excellence.
- Oversee all airport operations during assigned shifts, ensuring safety, service continuity, and compliance with operational procedures.
- Coordinate with terminal, airside, and AOCC teams to maintain smooth passenger, baggage, and aircraft flow across the airport.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as on-time performance (OTP), turnaround times, and passenger processing efficiency, initiating corrective actions when needed.
- Serve as the central decision-maker during irregular operations (IROPS), ensuring effective communication, contingency activation, and passenger care.
- Ensure compliance with ICAO, IATA, and local civil aviation authority standards in all operational activities.
- Liaise with airlines, ground handlers, and service providers to address operational disruptions, equipment failures, or staffing issues.
- Oversee incident and emergency management response, coordinating with HSE, security, and rescue teams as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of terminal and airside areas to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and safety compliance.
- Prepare detailed operational reports and shift handover documentation to maintain continuity between shifts.
- Lead and mentor shift teams, promoting situational awareness, proactive issue management, and service excellence.
