The Airfield Rescue and Firefighting Manager ensures the effective command, readiness, and operational performance of airport fire and rescue services in compliance with ICAO, and Civil Aviation Authority standards. The role is responsible for planning, leading, and coordinating all rescue and firefighting operations, maintaining equipment readiness, training personnel, and ensuring rapid emergency response to protect life, property, and operational continuity within the airfield.
- Lead and manage all airfield fire and rescue operations, ensuring immediate and effective response to aircraft incidents, fuel fires, and structural emergencies.
- Ensure full compliance with ICAO Annex 14,and local civil aviation fire safety regulations.
- Develop and implement emergency response procedures (ERP) and ensure integration with airport-wide crisis management frameworks.
- Maintain operational readiness of all firefighting vehicles, equipment, and protective gear through preventive maintenance programs.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and ensure mitigation plans are in place across all airport facilities and operational zones.
- Coordinate closely with ATC, ground operations, and external emergency agencies to ensure effective communication and unified command during incidents.
- Lead training programs and emergency drills to ensure firefighting teams maintain high competency and preparedness levels.
- Manage manpower deployment and shift scheduling to ensure 24/7 coverage and optimum response times.
- Oversee the inspection and certification of fire vehicles, hydrant systems, and foam/water supplies in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prepare incident reports, performance metrics, and audit documentation to support operational transparency, regulatory inspections, and continuous improvement.
